They are compressed into flash video, you will need a new version of the flash plug in to your browser in order to stream them.
You can also download the better quality Quicktime files from the links right under the images, their video codec is H.264 and the audio codec is AAC, if you download the latest quicktime player for your system there shouldn't be a problem playing them.
If you want to download the H.264 files to your computer to watch them, you may need to CTRL click (or right click, if you have more then one button on your mouse) and select "Save as".
